Safe drinking
One of the first and strongest effects that alcohol has on you is that it relaxes your inhibitions and consequently your regard for your personal safety. To keep yourself safe when drinking, try to get into the following habits.
1. Decide in advance how you will get home at the end of your night out, and make any transport arrangements before you start to drink.
2. Don’t drink on an empty stomach. Eat something before you leave home, and eat little and often while you are out drinking.
3. Take frequent sips of water along with your alcohol, or have a soft drink in between alcoholic ones. This helps to keep you hydrated, and your body to cope with the alcohol.
4. Know your own limit. Drinking beyond it is unsafe. You put yourself and others in danger if you lose control over what you say and do.
5. Don't take drinks from strangers. Also, never leave your drink unattended in case someone spikes it.
6. Watch out for your friends’ safety and ask them to watch out for yours.
